Leaks, bursts and flooding

Did you know that we spend £500,000 a day on fixing leaks on our pipes and replacing our water mains? That's more than 200 leaks we fix every day. Clean, safe drinking water is a special resource and we're investing heavily to preserve it.

It's important that leaks get fixed as quickly as possible, but it's not always clear whose responsibility it is to repair them. A simple guide is if the leak is within your property boundary then it is your responsibility as the homeowner. Any leakage outside the boundary is our responsibility.

In our illustration the boundary of the property is marked in pink, (note that this for guidance only. The actual boundary will vary and be unique to your home situation.)
