Your water, your future

Every five years, water companies in England and Wales are required to produce a Water Resources Management Plan that sets out how they aim to meet predicted demand for water over a 25-year period.

This section provides information on our Plan for the period 2010 to 2035, called the draft final WRMP09. This Plan has been developed since 2008 and has been subject to a public consultation and a public inquiry.

Following the public inquiry, Defra issued instructions on the amendments required to our Plan to meet the recommendations of the Planning Inspector. We have completed these amendments and we published our amended Plan for public consultation on 12 December 2011. The public consultation ran until 31 January 2012 and is now closed. We are reviewing the comments received and will publish our response to these comments in March 2012.

We will send a Statement of Response and the final WRMP09, amended to take account of stakeholder comments, to the Secretary of State in March 2012. The Secretary of State will consider these documents and decide whether to approve our plan.
