Our Love Water Ball in 2009 raised £630,000 for our principal charity, WaterAid - their largest ever single donation.

The money has significantly helped WaterAid expand its work to provide access to clean water, safe sanitation and hygiene education in East Africa.

Our Chief Operating Officer, Steve Shine, and our Head of Communications, Jayne Farrin, flew out to Tanzania to witness first hand how WaterAid are using the money raised.

Here 70 per cent of the rural population and 30 per cent of urban dwellers have no access to safe water. Diarrhoea accounts for more than 20 per cent of infant deaths.

Steve and Jayne spent four days visiting local communities in the Dodoma region, who are yet to benefit from WaterAid's support.

They also spent one day visiting communities near Dar es Salaam who now have access to clean water and sanitation, to see for themselves the life-saving difference the support makes.

Jayne also kept a blog about her experiences during the trip.
