Start is a new initiative, led by the Prince of Wales, to help people across the UK lead more sustainable lives.

Start is an initiative, led by the Prince of Wales, to help people across the UK lead more sustainable lives and to show what a more energy efficient, cleaner and healthier future could look like.

As part of the initiative, we've joined forces with five other water companies to form 'Your Water Companies', a major partner of Start.

Other Start partners include B&Q, Marks and Spencer, Waitrose, IBM, BT, Virgin Money and Asda.

Each partner has a 'starting' point, to help people make small, simple changes to their lifestyle.

Our starting point is to help people to start using water wisely.

START@Kew

From Thursday 25 to Monday 29 August, you can discover the fun of sustainable living within the beautiful grounds of Kew Gardens in south-west London.

Through an exciting mix of entertainment, playful discovery and hands-on exhibits, Start@Kew will give you simple ideas that you can try right away. Five fun and inspiring days await you and all the family at Kew!

START using water wisely

The festival will show the benefits of using fewer resources such as energy, food and fuel - and we'll be there showing people how simple it is to save water, both at home and at work.

Visitors can explore our online community Waterwisely, get first-hand tips and take away free water-saving devices, while children will be entertained by activity sheets and an interactive puzzle.

Start@Kew is included in your normal entry price for Kew Gardens – but you can get two for one if you travel by train.
