In December 2011 and January 2012 we launched Britain's first awareness campaigns urging people to use water wisely to protect their local river.
Our seven regional river campaigns – in Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Surrey, Hertfordshire and Kent - are the first of their kind to directly link local water use with impact on the local river, all tributaries of the River Thames, where this water comes from.
We've placed billboard posters at train stations and other local centres in the communities these rivers serve, each one carrying simple message: "The less we all use the more there’ll be in the river."
