Farmoor Reservoir is a man made structure that presents a comfortable platform from which to fish trout.

The reservoir offers both catch-and-kill fishing from boats and bank, and catch-and-release from bank only.

Suitable for all anglers

Due to the nature of the construction deep water is easily accessible to casters of all abilities with many fish being caught close to the bank.

Unlike most large reservoirs Farmoor is an ideal venue for beginners to fly-fishing, and those who don't want to fish from boats but still want a good chance to catch.

We also provide fly-fishing courses including all equipment.

Quality stocked trout

With an annual stocking of over 30,000 high quality rainbow and brown trout, the fishery at Farmoor provides fly-fishing of the highest quality.

Our new catch-and-release fishery on Farmoor I reservoir has recently opened, and is building a growing reputation for great sport with larger rainbow and brown trout.

The high quality water is home to various insect life including chironamid and daphnia, both of which produce high growth rates.

Our trout very quickly turn into firm-fleshed, hard fighting 'wild fish', and can double their weight by the end of the season.

Disabled access

Farmoor offers easy and safe access for disabled anglers with car parking adjacent to the water.
