If your bill seems unusually high, the points below may help you to work out why:
- Is there a leak on your water supply pipe?
- Does your current bill cover a longer period of time than your old bill?
- Are more people working at the premises?
- Has the nature of the business changed?
- Have you installed any new machinery that requires a lot of water?
- Was your previous bill based on an estimated reading? If your previous estimate was too low, your current bill may include additional costs from previous bills.
- Have you had any water-related problems, such as a dripping taps? A dripping tap can waste as much as 140 litres a week.
- Have you done any building, renovation, or decorating since your previous bill, that could mean you have used more water that normal?
