Garden for a Living London

As part of our commitment to helping London become a more sustainable city, Thames Water is supporting London Wildlife Trust's campaign 'Garden for a Living London'.

Garden for a Living London

The campaign aims to highlight the importance of the capital's gardens to wildlife and people, and give tips on using water wisely.

In urban areas especially, gardens help reduce the impacts of climate change.

The gardens absorb carbon, soak up and retain water, provide shade and help to cool the city. They also provide vital habitat for wildlife.

London Wildlife Trust wants gardeners to pledge to do one of seven things to make their garden more wildlife and climate friendly.

From something as simple as adding mulch to soil or filling a birdbath with water collected in a water butt, every one of London's three million gardens could be made better for wildlife and more water efficient.

Further information about the pledges is available on the London Wildlife Trust's website
