Our five-year plan for 2010 to 2015
The water industry works in five-year planning cycles, in which proposals are submitted to our regulator, Ofwat, to determine future price limits.
Our draft report set out the challenges we face from 2010 to 2015 and how we intend to address them.
- Setting the scene
- Providing water and sewerage services for London and the Thames Valley will entail a variety of challenges in the five years from 2010. Read more about the issues we've considered in drawing up our plan.
- What our customers and stakeholders have told us
- In the run-up to drafting this plan, we've conducted our largest-ever customer consultation, to find out your priorities for the water and sewerage services we provide. Find out more about the results.
- Ensuring there's enough clean water for everyone
- Population growth and climate change are just two of the factors that are likely to put increasing pressure on water resources in our region. Our plans include a range of measures to reduce demand and increase supplies.
- Safely recycling wastewater to the environment
- We plan to boost capacity in our sewerage systems to cope with an increasing number of customers, and invest to reduce sewer flooding and odour problems. Improving river water quality is also an important factor.
- Looking after our customers
- Our company vision is: "If customers had a choice, they would choose Thames Water." We plan to improve our communications and ensure we deal with customer queries more quickly and effectively.
- Delivering our plan
