Our five-year plan for 2010 to 2015

The water industry works in five-year planning cycles, in which proposals are submitted to our regulator, Ofwat, to determine future bill limits for customers and the investment programmes companies can make.

Before handing in our five-year business plan, we carry out extensive research with our customers in order to fully understand their concerns and how best to address them. This ensures our plan reflects their views and willingness to pay for all the must-do jobs that need doing - improving our ageing water pipes, sewers and other facilities - to help us maintain high standards of service.

Your step-by-step guide to the Price Review
Every five years all water companies in England and Wales submit business plans to the economic regulator, Ofwat, outlining their future investment priorities and the likely cost.
