Disposable nappies, cotton buds and sanitary products are just a few of the household items regularly flushed down the toilet. But it is not just about what goes down the toilet, cooking oil and fat tipped down the sink cause blockages and ultimately sewer flooding.

Play your part

Why not canvass the restaurants in your local community, your school, or at home to find out how they dispose of their waste products?

Waste cooking products such as fat can be put to good use feeding hungry birds.

Why not make bird feeders from collected fat, you could conduct a survey of the different species of birds around your school, or even sell the feeders to make money for your school or a charity.
