Odour monitoring
We are committed to improving the odour control at Mogden Sewage Treatment Works to improve the environment for our neighbours.
Our regulator, Ofwat, has approved funding of around £40million to improve the odour at Mogden.
Odour surveys at Mogden
Odour surveys are regularly undertaken at Mogden, both by Thames Water and the London Borough of Hounslow.
These surveys use a technique called olfactometry, where samples of air are taken at different locations around the works and studied in a laboratory.
