Delivering water of the highest quality

We know that for our customers, access to high-quality water is a top priority.

That's why we constantly monitor the quality of our water and carry out over 400,000 tests each year to make sure it is of the highest standard.

Each one of these tests and our processes are subject to scrutiny by external bodies such as the Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI), who assess our water quality results and each year produces a public report on the standard of tap water.

We have a highly trained and dedicated workforce working around the clock to ensure that we give our customers water of the highest quality.

They carry out tests at every stage of the treatment process up until the very last point before it is pumped into our 31,000km of water mains.

However, it doesn't stop there. Our team of water quality technicians continue to take and analyse samples from our water mains and from customers' taps.

In this section you can find out all about the quality of the water in your area, advice on how to look after the water in your home and information on drinking water quality, regulation and standards.
