Our Project Communications team works on a wide variety of projects where our operations are likely to impact on residents, businesses and other members of the community.
Their role is to communicate why we need to carry out our work, provide the means for people to ask questions and give feedback, and ensure that, where possible, we take these opinions into account.
Typical projects on which they work include schemes to alleviate sewer flooding, large-scale maintenance work and improvements at our treatment works.
Their activities can include organising 'drop-in' sessions for local people to meet our representatives, producing letters and leaflets explaining our work, and gathering customer feedback on our activities.
During 2009/10, their work has included:
Ongoing communications around our Victorian Mains Replacement programme, in various areas of London
Keeping residents updated about work at Mogden Sewage Treatment Works in west London, for example by launching a newsletter
Communicating to local communities about extension work to the Ring Main, which supplies the capital with much of its water
