Involve the whole school community

Here are some suggestions of what you could do to promote water efficiency in your community:

Engage the local media

  • Invite the local newspaper or radio station to your school to learn about your water saving project and successes
  • Write an article about the changes you have made

Invite speakers to visit your school

  • Ask parents or members of the local community who work in a related area (e.g. water industry) if they could give you advice on what other things you could do.
  • Sign up to Thames Water's free Community Speaker Programme. Trained Thames Water employees will come to your school.

School newsletters

  • Newsletters are a good way to communicate to parents about your water saving achievements and could also be used to ask for any help you may need.
