Films

  • Water Use survey - An introduction to completing a school water survey
  • Water efficiency campaign films - Creative and Media Diploma students in Hounslow have produced two films to illustrate how a water efficiency campaign could be carried out in a school.

Water Matters

Key Stage 2

Water Matters has been developed to encourage school children to investigate and consider the ways in which they use water and the amount used, both at school and in their homes.

The resource is supported by the Aquabatics DVD and includes pupils tasks linked the Science Curriculum and to support the development of numeracy and literacy skills.

Water Wise Assembly Pack

KS 1 & 2(also suitable for KS3 pupils with some adaptation)

The 'Water Wise' Assembly Module has been created to engage children of all ages and to show them that everybody can really make a difference by using water wisely.

Resource includes all the elements required to hold a whole school or year group themed assembly including: pupil participation script, music suggestions, reflection and suggestions for cross curricular follow up activities

The Water School

Key Stages 2 and 3

An updated and extended website for teachers and pupils based on the highly successful Water in the School website. The Water School is aimed at Key Stage 2 and the first years of Key Stage 3. The website provides everything you need to set up and run a water conservation project in your school.

The Water School would provide a great introduction to the Water Use survey.

Why Worry About Water?

Key Stage 3

This secondary school resource supports the programme as a whole. It encourages students to explore the principle water issues of water shortages, pollution and the impact we all have on aquatic ecosystems. Provides additional information for the introduction of undertaking a Water Use survey or Water Audit for KS 3 students wishing to contribute to the schools Action Group and or Plan.

The Great Debate

Key Stages 3 and 4

The Great Debate is a mixed media teaching and learning resource supporting the Geography, Citizenship and Science curriculum. The mixed media resource aims to facilitate an understanding of the importance and value of water through debate. Students are invited to take on the role of local residents, interested parties and panel members in a public debate held at a fictional town, as the community debates the pros and cons of becoming ‘water neutral’.
