What is TLS?
TLS, or Transport Layer Security, allows us to make sure that any data you send to us is sent over securely encrypted connection, maintaining integrity of your data and privacy.
Many companies use TLS for security purposes, particularly when sending banking information and personal data.
What is Thames Water doing?
At Thames Water we are upgrading to TLS 1.2 which is the latest version and the most secure. Some older internet browsers and operating systems are not compatible with the latest version of TLS and you will not be able to make payment on our website. You may notice poor performance across other areas of our site also.
What does this mean for me?
From April 2017, you will no longer be able to make a payment on our website or online account management. To maintain the highest level of data security, please upgrade your browser to the latest version. That way we can ensure the best performance of our website on your browser and operating system. You can do this by checking if there are any outstanding updates in your settings, or using a search engine to check against the latest version you have installed.
