Our current performance against our targets
This is a calendar year performance commitment. In 2021, with four failures, we narrowly missed our treatment works compliance target achieving 98.96% compliance.
Our unaudited 2022 position shows we will again narrowly miss our target.

What is driving our underperformance
Our reviews haven't identified any systemic reason for these failures reinforcing the need to invest and address the asset health deficit that exists.
How we plan to improve our performance by the end of the AMP
We are investing a record amount to reduce pollution. This includes £1.12 billion on sewage treatment plants, including £650 million on enhancing and upgrading over 135 existing sites to improve resilience and provide additional capacity.
Over the period, we will spend a further £470 million on the wider sewer network.
