We will be carrying out construction works at Lockwood Reservoir from June to December 2017 to protect the embankment around the reservoir so we can make sure it’s safe for the future.
This work is being carried out in two phases. The first phase of works (June to September) involved the construction of a crest road around the perimeter of the reservoir, which is now complete. We are now in the second phase of the work; protecting the west bank of the reservoir from wind and wave erosion.
The map below illustrates the restrictions that will be in place during Phase two between September and December. We'll continue to have signage and traffic marshals in place to assist anyone using Low Maynard Road at this time.
For everyone's safety, there will be no access to Lockwood Reservoir for fishing during construction hours (7AM to 6PM).
Since the completion of the crest road in September, we have opened east bank to the public, as indicated in the map below. To enable us to carry out this work we have partially drained down the reservoir, which will be of interest to bird watchers as we expect this to attract a range of rare birds to the area.
We will do everything we can to reduce disruption during this essential work and thank you for your understanding.
Please share this news with anyone you know who may be impacted. Thank you.
