The programme details
We’re looking for bright sparks to join our team. You’ll need to be hungry to learn and committed to the full apprenticeship which, to become fully qualified to degree level, will take up to five years. You’ll be self motivated with an appetite to be the best you can be.
You’ll be working as part of a team and we’ll support you along the way but you should be prepared to manage your own time and learning, so you’ll need to be very organised. Throughout the programme you’ll receive feedback on how you’re doing and you’ll need to listen and respond to this accordingly.
Joining our laboratory team you’ll undergo a formal higher apprenticeship in chemistry through workplace learning. You’ll work towards becoming a Laboratory Analyst at the end of the programme, where we’ll continue to grow and develop you into our next generation of leaders. In your first two years you’ll do a lower apprenticeship (Lab Technician) and study for an HNC either by distance learning or day release. Once completed there are further opportunities to move onto the day release degree programme (Lab Scientist) for an additional two to three years.
You’ll get hands-on experience in the preparation and analysis of samples for the determination of chemical parameters and you’ll be using the latest technology in the field of analytical chemistry. The learning curve will be challenging and you’ll be given the opportunity to develop and grow throughout the apprenticeship.
