We actively engage with the communities we serve whether it is providing education and training, volunteering, fundraising, charitable support or hosting charity events.
Here's a taster of what you could be part of if you join us.
WaterAid is our principal charity which we have supported for 30 years.
Our employees are passionate and dedicated to helping the charity to overcome poverty by enabling the world's poorest people gain access to clean water and safe sanitation.
We hold a number of corporate fundraising events throughout the year to raise both funds and awareness. These events include the chance to run in the London Marathon; race a homemade raft in fancy dress down the River Thames in a team of six; departmental sport matches; quizzes; 5k runs and bike rides. In addition we hold an annual clay pigeon shoot for our contractors and suppliers.
Our employees also hold their own ad-hoc initiatives and take part in external sponsored events for WaterAid.

Time to Give
We give all employees the chance to volunteer.
Through our Time To Give programme, all employees receive two days per year, in addition their annual leave, to volunteer in different ways, for charities that operate in the areas where they work and live.
Recent volunteering events have included:
- Reading RESCUE - A litter picking and general waste tidy ups at communal sites across the Reading area.
- Thames 21 - River Thames clean-up events with the environmental charity.
We support a wide range of charities and organisations in our area.
Two recent community projects that have benefited from our support are:
- Ahoy Centre in Deptford which received funding to help promote the benefits of healthy lifestyle opportunities for the local community.
- Churchend Primary School in Reading received funds to purchase garden resources to expand their environmental projects.
