In early 2025, we announced a new £20 million River Health and Community Fund. We’re pleased to share details of our first phase of funding, and how you can apply.
Along with our current ‘microgrant’ community fund, we are launching two new funds. These will support river engagement and river enhancement projects between now and 2030.
Please check that your organisation is within our supply area before applying.
We can't offer water supply connections, ongoing costs of water or provision of water at events from these funds.
Where possible, we want to provide further support through colleague volunteering. Please do mention any opportunities to work with us in this way in your project requests.
Applications are welcome from:
Other public sector organisations, such as councils and local authorities, can apply for our Enhance the River fund. To apply for a microgrant or Engage the River fund project, they would need to work with a lead eligible organisation.

Our Time to Give program lets employees take paid time for community and charity work. Our team shares their skills and time to help charities, community groups, and environmental projects. This boosts the wellbeing of the communities we serve.
Every employee can make a difference and connect with a cause that matters to them. For example:
We encourage our workforce to give back. This helps us create lasting social value and connect with organisations that share our commitment.
We’re always looking for new ways to engage with the communities we serve. If you know a community group or charity that needs support or extra hands for a project, please let us know. We’d love to help!
