Take on some of the hardest fishing and tastiest trout in the country. This award-winning fly fishery has 40lb pike, 18lb trout and 5lb perch to test your fishing skills. At the reservoir you can:

  • Enjoy bank and boat fishing and hire a boat 
  • Anglers with disabilities can get in on the action with our Wheely Boat 
  • Test your skills in regular member fishing matches 
  • Visit Oxford Sailing Club Waterside Café on-site for a drink and bite to eat 
  • Enjoy a walk around our three nature reserves

Tickets and price list

With a season ticket, you can fish all year round. You also get discounts on boat hire and the chance to take part in regular fishing matches.

You can also visit for the day and buy a day ticket for fishing.

To buy your ticket, please pop into the ranger’s lodge next time you visit. 

About your visit

Farmoor Fishery is a favourite spot for anglers from across the UK and Europe. It's open year round and has a range of angling options. 

There are two reservoirs to choose from: one catch and release, the other with the option to take trout home.

The fishery is well known for its spring and summer buzzer fishing, and dry fly fishing in the warmer months. Lure patterns work all year, and boat fishing during the winter provides great sport, as the fish sit deep. 

How to book

Please call 07747 640 707 to book your angling session in advance. You can pay on arrival for angling day tickets. Anglers must be in full possession of an Environment Agency rod licence.

Fish from bank or boat

You can set your rig up for a spot of bank fishing. Or why not hire a boat for the day to take on some of the deeper dwelling fish?

To be respectful to our neighbours when visiting our site, please only park in our main car park at Gate 3.
