A222 water pipe replacement

We're upgrading 1.5km of clean water pipes on Chislehurst Road, Elm Road and Station Road in Sidcup.

The new, long-lasting plastic pipes are much stronger than the cast-iron pipes they replace. This reduces the risk of leaks and burst pipes, providing you with a more reliable water supply. By reducing leakage, we'll also need to take less water from the environment.

We're sorry for the disruption this essential work will cause. We'll do everything we can to keep this to a minimum.

When and where we'll be working

Our work starts on 6 January 2026 and is expected to complete in April 2027. If that changes, we will write to you to keep you updated.

Working hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 8am - 5pm
  • Saturday: 9am - 4pm
  • Sunday: 10am - 4pm
