Bexley trunk main installation

We're installing a new transfer water main between Oxleas Wood and Farningham Hill. The new main will provide capacity for forecast growth in the area.

As part of the project, we're also building a new water booster station at Bexley WTW. The North Orpington WTW will be decommissioned as part of the project. This will be offset with the new transfer water main.

When and where we'll be working

We'll be working in phases from February 2026 and expect to finish in January 2030. Please note that dates may change slightly, depending on site conditions and progress.

Our working hours will be Monday to Friday 8am until 5pm. Weekend or night working may be required occasionally. If this happens, we’ll let you know in advance.

How this may affect you

You may be affected by our work during this time, such as traffic disruptions and road closures.

We are also anticipating extra vehicle movements and noise. We’ll do our best to minimise this and may install sound barriers where needed.

Resident and business access will be maintained where possible. Where not possible, we'll reach out to customers to arrange alternative routes. Emergency access will always be prioritised.
