Hampton 3605 mains replacement in Clapham and Battersea
We're replacing over 2.7km of pipes in the Clapham and Battersea area. This upgrade will reduce the chance of bursts and provide a more reliable water supply. This long-term solution will future-proof your water network for generations to come.

When and where we'll be working
Our work started on Monday 5 January 2026. We'll be working in phases along the road to complete the scheme.
We'll be on-site Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm and Saturday, 8am to 6pm. Weekend works when required. We’ll work in sections to minimise disruption as much as we can.
Kelmscott Road
Since 2 February 2026
Road closures:
- Phase 3: From 41 Kelmscott Road to Northcote Road Junction
- Phase 4: From Northcote Road Junction to 89 Kelmscott Road
Mysore Road
Since 2 March 2026
Road closures:
- Phase 1: Junction of Marjorie Grove to junction of Mysore Road
- Phase 2: Junction of Elspeth Road to 73 Elspeth Road
- Phase 3: 73 to 55 Elspeth Road
- Phase 4: 55 to 35 Elspeth Road
- Phase 5: 35 to 17 Elspeth Road
- Phase 6: 17 Elspeth Road to junction of Lavender Hill
After phase 6, we’ll test the new water pipe before we connect you to it.
Marney Road
18 May 2026 for around 11 weeks
Road closures:
- Phase 1: Clapham Common North Side Junction to 81 Marney Road
- Phase 2: Clapham Common North Side Junction to 81 Marney Road
- Phase 3: 81 to 37 Marney Road
- Phase 4: 81 to 37 Marney Road
- Phase 5: 37 Marney Road to junction of Stormont Road
- Phase 6: 37 Marney Road to junction of Stormont Road
After phase 6, we’ll test the new water pipe before we connect you to it.
Chatham Road and Stonells Road
26 May 2026 for around 10 weeks
Road closures:
- Phase 1a: 114 Chatham Road to junction of Webbs Road
- Phase 1b: Stonells Road
- Phase 2: 114 to 84 Chatham Road
- Phase 3: 84 Chatham Road to junction of Northcote Road
After phase 3, we’ll test the new water pipe before we connect you to it.

As part of this scheme, we'll be working on many roads across the area. We'll send letters to update you with further information before these works start.

How this may affect you
- Pedestrian access will be maintained for residents and businesses
- Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles
- Increased noise and vehicle movements, but we’ll do everything we can to reduce this with sound barriers
- Some suspended parking
We may also need to turn off your water supply for a short time. If so, we’ll send you a letter with more details at the time.
