High Beech, Loughton mains replacement 

We’re upgrading old water mains in High Beech, Loughton. This is to reduce supply interruptions, improve water quality, and tackle leakage. The new plastic pipes we’ll install are much stronger and more resilient. This will help us provide a more reliable service now and for future generations. 

We’re sorry for any disruption this essential work may cause. We'll do everything we can to minimise the impact. By completing this planned work now, we aim to prevent future unexpected disruptions. 

When and where we'll be working

Work starts on Queens Road on 3 March 2026. We’ll be working from the junction of York Hill to approximately 51 Queens Road for three weeks. We'll start work at Spareleaze Hill from 9 March 2026. 

Working hours will be Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm and Saturday 8am to 6pm if required.

How this may affect you

We're sorry for any disruption caused during these essential works. To minimise impact, we're working with the local council and Highways Authority. 

Waste collection

If your property is impacted by our works, please put your bins out by 5am on your collection day. A member of our team will collect your bin from the footpath only and transfer it to the designated collection point. Please be aware, our teams aren't permitted to enter your private property. Our staff will return your two-wheeled bins once they've been emptied. To help ensure the correct bin is returned, please number your bin if you haven't done so already. 

Road closures

Queens Road will be closed at the junction of York Hill with no left or right turn in place.  Traffic will be diverted via York Hill. 

Other disruptions may include:

  • Parking bay suspensions either side of our work area 
  • Traffic management 
  • Bus stop closures 
  • Increase in noise and vehicle movements 

Access will be maintained for residents, businesses, and emergency vehicles.
