Knowle Lane mains replacement

We're replacing the mains on Knowle Lane with new, high-strength plastic pipes. This upgrade will help to ensure a reliable, long-term supply of clean drinking water. It will also help to cut down on leaks and bursts, while boosting service quality in the area.

When and where we'll be working

The work is happening between Wildwood Lane and the water course, about 300m south of Lions Lane. Work is planned to start on 25 May 2026 and is expected to be completed on 18 September 2026.

We’ll be completing pre-work and main works in stages. Our working hours will be Monday to Saturday, 07:00 to 19:00 and Sunday 09:00 to 13:00.

How this may affect you

Access to properties within our closure will be maintained. This is a key reason as to why we carry out the works in phases, so we can ensure property access is kept as easy as possible.

Your water supply may be impacted, but we'll notify you of this at least 48 hours prior. Your water should only be shut off for a maximum of three hours.

We will be aiming to keep noise levels to a minimum in the earlier hours, later hours, and over the weekends. We are aware of the local event happening at the end of June. On that date, we are aiming to have the road reopened and work paused so there is no clash.

Our Traffic Management has been agreed by the local authority as a rolling road closure. We will be completing the works in phases, but the diversion route will remain the same throughout all phases.
