Roads we'll be working on:
We'll use road closures in 100m sections. This could cause traffic disruptions. Diversion routes will be signposted.
Footpaths will stay open. Access to driveways will remain open as much as possible.
Noise is likely during working hours. We're sorry for any inconvenience and will try to keep disruptions to a minimum.
Letters will be sent to residents before we start working in your road.
This area is part of the riverside flow monitoring zone, located in South-East London. It serves urban and commercial areas, including Greenwich Peninsula and Charlton Riverside. These are classed as ‘opportunity areas’ by the Greater London Authority.
New dwellings are planned between now and 2050 within this zone. This means the average daily demands are predicted to increase from 54.0Ml/d up to 89.8Ml/d by 2050. The peak instantaneous daily demand is predicted to increase from 82.1Ml/d to 167.0Ml/d by 2050.
This increase in peak demand is beyond the capacity of the current network. The new water pipe will support water demands for future generations.
Ml/d = Megalitres per day (an equivalent measurement of water)
