Pollution disclaimer

Not all blockages are in our sewers. A small part of the pipework from your property is private. If we find that the issue is in your private sewer, the engineer will discuss this with you as we're not permitted to clear this.

As the waste from your property isn't draining away normally, there's a chance of waste flooding into your home from plugholes or waste pipes. We recommend you:

• Try to avoid using the washing machine, dishwasher, or bath
• Keep the flushes of your toilets to a minimum whilst we investigate
• Contact your home insurance as they may be able to offer more help

We'll investigate and if our sewer has caused the flooding, we'll carry out a cleanup. This includes litter picking, removing excess liquid, washing down and disinfecting. We'll try to do this on our first visit but may need to arrange a further visit. We will inform the Environment Agency, there is no need for you to do so.
