Sewer Repair

Last updated:

Eglinton Hill SE18

Following a recent clean water burst pipe, a problem was also identified on a sewer pipe in the same area. The burst on Eglinton Hill, which impacted Ripon Road and Herbert Road, has now been repaired, allowing our wastewater team to begin sewer repair works.

Due to a risk of contamination to the water network, our sewer team couldn't begin work until the clean water pipe had been repaired.

A road closure between Eglinton Hill and Genesta Road is needed to carry out the repair. Pedestrian access will remain open and a bus diversion will be in operation.

To carry out the work, our team needs to dig 3.5m deep to expose the damaged pipe and, due to a nearby gas pipe, excavation will be carried out by hand to ensure safety.
