W4 - Acton Lane

Update – 08:15 22/07/2026

We're pleased to advise that the broken pipe in Action Lane has now been repaired and put back into use.  

Our focus is now on restoring the area back to normal, and reinstating the road before it is opened again to traffic. We anticipate being finished and to have vacated the area over this coming weekend. 

Sorry for the disruption and we appreciate your continued patience while we work to make good the damage caused.

Update – 14:00 20/07/2026

Our teams have continued to make good progress repairing the damaged water main on Acton Lane. 

We're hoping to complete the repair and turn the water main back on from 14:00pm tomorrow, although this may change depending on site conditions.

We'll then start restoring the road and footpaths around the site. We're still aiming to reopen the road over the weekend of 25–26 July.

Traffic management and road closures will remain in place while the work continues to keep everyone safe.

We're sorry for the disruption and appreciate your continued patience while we complete the work and reopen the road as quickly as possible.

We'll provide our next update no later than 09:30 Wednesday morning, or sooner if there are any significant developments.

Update – 09:00 17/07/2026

Our teams continue to make good progress with the repair to the damaged water main on Acton Lane.

We currently expect to complete the repair by Monday or Tuesday next week, although this remains subject to site conditions and may change if we encounter any unforeseen issues during the work.

Once the repair is complete, we'll begin restoring the road and footpaths. This phase of the work is expected to take several days, and we're aiming to reopen the road by Sunday 26 July.

Traffic management and road closures will remain in place while repair and reinstatement works are carried out to ensure the safety of our teams and everyone travelling through the area.

We know these works are causing disruption, and we're sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you for your continued patience while we complete the repair and safely restore the area as quickly as possible.

We'll provide our next update on Monday 20 July, or sooner if there are any significant developments.

Update – 15:45 15/07/2026

Excavation work on Acton Lane continues as our teams prepare to fix the broken pipe. When the pipe is fully accessible, we'll then be able to assess the damaged pipe and know then how best to repair it as quickly and safely as possible.

Water has been kept flowing by rerouting supplies around the area, your water supply should be flowing. Some may still experience lower pressure during periods of high demand, but this will improve throughout the day as it builds in the pipe.

To keep everyone safe, Acton Lane remains closed, with diversions in place. Should you be travelling in the area please allow extra time to your journey. 

Again, thank you for your understanding as we work to fix things and return the area back to normal. We'll provide a further update no later than 10:30 tomorrow.

Update – 12:43 15/07/2026

Our teams remain on site on Acton Lane, where excavation works are continuing to prepare the damaged water main for repair. Once the excavation is complete, repair work will begin as quickly and safely as possible.

We've kept water flowing to customers by rerouting supplies through the local network, and all customers should continue to have water. However, you may still notice lower water pressure during periods of high demand while repairs are underway.

Acton Lane remains closed while we carry out this essential work. If you're travelling in the area, please allow extra time for your journey and follow the signed diversion routes.

Update – 08:30 15/07/2026

We're pleased to confirm that water supplies have now been restored to most of our customers affected by the burst water main on Acton Lane.

We've kept water flowing to customers by moving water around the local network, and all customers should continue to have a water supply. During busier times of the day, you may still notice lower water pressure while the repairs are ongoing.

Our teams remain on site and are now setting up to begin repairs to the two damaged sections of the water main. This includes completing the necessary excavation and preparing the site so repairs can be carried out safely.

Acton Lane remains closed while this work takes place. If you're travelling in the area, please allow extra time for your journey and follow the signed diversion routes.
