Thames Water completes £15 million upgrade to strengthen Bromley’s water supply

Thames Water has completed a £15 million upgrade at its Shortlands Water Booster Station in Bromley, helping to provide more reliable water supplies for thousands of customers across the local area.

The upgraded site includes new pumping equipment and power systems designed to strengthen operational resilience and reduce the likelihood of supply interruptions. Throughout construction, water supplies to customers were maintained with no disruption to service.
The improvements will also help reduce the risk of bursts across the local network, improve water quality by enabling water to move more efficiently through the system, and provide greater flexibility for operators managing supplies during periods of high demand.
The project has been nominated as a finalist for Project of the Year at the Association for Project Management Awards.
