Repair continuing overnight: The team are currently fixing the issue
Repair continuing overnight
Our teams are continuing to respond to the burst water main affecting customers in Cockfosters and nearby areas.
Repair work on the damaged section of pipe is due to begin this evening. Due to the complexity of the repair, it is expected to take several days to complete. Our engineers will be working around the clock, including overnight, to restore supplies as safely and quickly as possible.
To help support customers while repairs are underway, water tankers will remain in the area pumping additional water into the network.
Traffic management measures will also stay in place throughout the repair work. If you need to travel through the area, please allow extra time for your journey and consider using alternative routes where possible.
We understand the significant disruption this is causing and would like to thank our customers and local communities for their continued patience and understanding. We are committed to keeping you updated as work progresses and will share further information as soon as it becomes available.
The repair is complex
Our teams continue to work around the clock following a burst water main in the Cockfosters area.
The repair is more complex than initially anticipated, and we are mobilising additional specialist resources to support the work and minimise disruption to customers.
Traffic management remains in place in the area while our teams continue their work. Our current plan is to carry out the repair tonight, with specialist repair teams ready to begin once the necessary network preparations have been completed.
We are continuing to put measures in place to protect customer supplies, including tankers and bottled water stations. Some customers may experience low water pressure or interruptions to their supply while the network is under pressure.
If you or someone you know needs a little extra support, our free Priority Services Register can help us to understand your situation so we can take it into account as best we can.
The bottled water station is still open until 21.00 tonight to provide additional support to the affected areas.
We understand how disruptive this is and will continue to provide updates as the work progresses.
Bottled water station is open
Our teams have been working throughout the night to keep water supplies stable and support customers affected by the ongoing incident.
We’ve made good progress, with water tankers now in place to support affected customers. However, some customers may still experience low water pressure or, in some cases, no water supply.
Our specialist teams remain in the area this morning, with additional tankers and resources being brought in to provide further support.
The repair is complex and requires careful planning and specialist resources. We are working to begin repair work today.
Bottled water is available from 09.00 this morning at:
- Forty Hall Estate, Forty Hill, Enfield, EN2 9HA
If you're collecting bottled water, our colleagues will load your vehicle for you. Please follow the guidance provided on site. For everyone's safety, please apply your handbrake, switch off your engine, and keep a safe distance from other vehicles while your car is being loaded.
We’re also continuing deliveries to customers who are registered on our Priority Services Register as water dependent, with priority being given to those who need additional support. We’ll be with you as soon as possible.
We understand how frustrating this has been and we're sorry for the disruption. Our teams are working hard to restore normal service as quickly and safely as possible.

We’re still working on site to assess the damage and minimise any impact from the burst water pipe in Bramley Road. Until the repair is complete, unfortunately, during periods of high demand some will experience low pressure, this will return to normal once we’ve fixed the broken pipe.
Our teams will be working around the clock to maintain supplies across the affected area, but we must advise, owing to the complexity of the repair, it will most likely take some time to complete, but we'll keep any disruption to a minimum.
Road traffic management will be in place, should you be travelling in the area, please add some extra time to your journey.
Our bottled water station is now closed.
We’ll have some bottled water stations open tomorrow for customers who need to collect bottled water. Their location and opening times will be shared here tomorrow morning.
Bottled water deliveries to customers who are registered on our Priority Services Register as water dependent will continue this evening and will commence again tomorrow morning. Priority is being given to those who need additional support. We’ll be with you as soon as possible.
We apologise for the disruption and inconvenience caused.
