Burst water main

Last updated:

Update - 17:45 09/07/2026

Our specialist teams remain on site working hard. We have located the point of burst on the pipework and are working to excavate down to the damaged section.

Our work tonight will also include searching for any potential voids to ensure our teams are working on safe ground.

We sincerely apologise in advance for any disruption caused and appreciate all the support and patience our customers have shown.

To keep everyone safe, we've had to close the road and parts of the footpath. If you're travelling in the area please allow additional time to any journey as traffic diversions are in place.

We'll provide a further update on our progress no later than 08:00 tomorrow morning.

Update - 09:45 09/07/2026

We're sorry to customers in the Grove Road & Old Ford Road area who have been affected by a burst water main overnight.

Our teams on site have stopped the flooding and are working to put things right. Your water supply should now have returned, the pressure may be lower than normal, but this will improve as it builds in the pipe.

Our customer teams are in the area, please do speak to them if you need any support.

We've put measures in place to move more water around the local network, and your water should now be flowing again.

The following postal code areas will be affected:

We apologies for any inconvenience caused. We'll provide a further update by 10:00.
