The Muswell Hill Wildlife Trust will attend site tomorrow to remove the nest, after which Haringey Council will remove the tree, allowing us to dig down and carry out the repairs.
We’re sorry for the ongoing disruption and thank customers for their patience. We hope to have a further update for you by 12:00 tomorrow morning.
Update - 14:52 18/05/2026
Repairs to the burst water pipe on Muswell Hill Road remain suspended while we continue liaising with Haringey Council regarding the requirements for tree removal due to nesting birds near the excavation site.
Water has been successfully re-routed around the affected area and tankers continue to support the network, so you should now have your water supply restored. Some customers may continue to experience lower pressure during periods of high demand until repairs are complete.
We’ll provide a further update no later than 21:00. We’re sorry for the ongoing disruption.
Update - 07:00 18/05/2026
Unfortunately, owing to a tree with nesting birds being near the location of the burst water pipe in Muswell Hill Road, its taking longer than normal to complete the repair.
We've had to suspend our repairs for the moment, and plan it taking into consideration the nesting wildlife. We'll be meeting on site with the local authority today to agree a repair plan.
In the meantime, water has been re-routed water around and tankers continue to support the area, meaning you should now have your water back.
Until the repair is complete, during periods of high demand you may notice your pressure is lower than normal. We know how disruptive it is if you lose your water supply, and we’re working hard to get things back to normal as soon as we can.
We'll provide a further update no later than 15:00. We're sorry for the delay and any disruption caused.
