Essential wastewater repair

21 October, 10:40am

We are carrying out essential work to repair a wastewater pipe in the Fulmer Drive area serving a local sewage pumping station in Geralds Cross.

To maintain wastewater services for customers while the repairs are completed, we are using tanker vehicles to help keep wastewater services running during the repair.

Therefore, residents may notice an increased number of our branded and contractor vehicles in the area, including some activity during overnight periods.

We understand this work may cause disruption and appreciate the patience of customers while we complete these repairs as quickly and safely as possible.

To minimise disruption, we have installed noise-reduction barriers around equipment on site and instructed tanker operators to switch off engines whenever operationally possible. We are also continuing to review our traffic and tanker support arrangements to help minimise disruption while we are maintaining regular engagement with affected customers and local stakeholders.

Currently, the timeline of the repair cannot be confirmed until our teams have excavated and reached the damaged section of pipe. We expect works to take up to approximately two weeks and will provide further updates as we continue to repair the problem.

During periods of heavy rainfall, additional tankers may be required to help protect customers from sewer flooding and maintain wastewater services. If this becomes necessary, customers may see an increase in vehicle movements.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide further updates as more information becomes available.

We apologise for the inconvenience and thank customers for their continued understanding while we carry out these essential repairs.

We’ll provide another update by 28 October, 12:00pm
