We're on site

24 September, 10:04am

We're continuing to respond to a burst on a large water main in the Chigwell area.

Due to increased demand during the morning peak period, more customers are currently experiencing low pressure or no water while we carry out this complex repair.

Our teams remain on site and are working as quickly and safely as possible to restore normal supplies. We have mobilised all available resources, including specialist repair crews, equipment and support teams, to complete the repair and minimise disruption to customers.

At the same time, we're arranging alternative water supplies for affected customers. Water tankers are being deployed to support the area, and we're prioritising bottled water deliveries for customers who depend on water for medical needs and other essential requirements.

We're sorry for the ongoing disruption and appreciate the impact this has had on customers. Our teams are working as quickly and safely as possible to complete the repair and fully restore the network.

If you or someone you know needs a little extra support, our free Priority Services Register can help us to understand your situation so we can take it into account as best we can.

Thank you for your continued patience while this complex work is carried out.

Repair Progressing

24 September, 7:30am

Our teams remain on site on Langston Road, continuing work to repair the burst water main.

As we’ve excavated further, we’ve found that the damage is more extensive than we initially expected. This means a larger section of the main needs to be replaced, and we’ve ordered additional specialist parts to complete the repair safely and permanently.

The repair is also particularly challenging because several other utility services, including cables and pipes, are located close to the damaged main. Our teams need to carefully work around these services to avoid further disruption and keep everyone on site safe.

While the repair continues, we’ve put temporary measures in place to help maintain water supplies across the area. Most customers should remain in supply, although some may experience lower water pressure at times while we manage the network.

We know how disruptive it is if you lose your water supply, so we’ll work hard to get things back to normal as soon as we can.

We're sorry its taking longer but we're committed to completing the repair as soon as possible.

We're still on site working to fix things

23 September, 8:15pm

We're sorry if you're still experiencing issues with your water supply this evening.

Our specialist teams are still in the area working to get things back to normal, and will be working throughout the night. Unfortunately, the repair is very complicated and taking longer than usual, but we're working as quickly and safely as possible to get things back to normal.

Currently we're working to divert further water to the area, and we also have tankers in the area to reduce the number of people affected.

We'll be working throughout the night to fix things, but we know how disruptive it is if you lose your water supply, so we’ll work hard to get things back to normal as soon as we can.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused, and thank you for your ongoing patience and understanding as we work to fix things.
