Chris Weston

Appointed January 2024.

Before joining Thames Water, Chris was the CEO of Aggreko. Aggreko is an energy and temperature control company operating in 45 countries. It was bought in a public markets’ transaction in 2021.

Prior to this, Chris worked at Centrica, the parent company of British Gas. He held several leadership roles, including Managing Director of International Downstream. He was, responsible for British Gas and the Northern American business, Direct Energy.

Before this, Chris was responsible for Direct Energy. Direct Energy manages upstream oil and gas operations. They also provide downstream customer services. For this role, he lived and worked in North America.

Chris was the Managing Director for British Gas Services and British Gas Business. This was during his time at Centrica. British Gas Services is a leading company for heating installation, repair, and maintenance. British Gas Business provides gas and electricity to businesses in the UK

Before Centrica, Chris worked in the telecommunications sector for the Cable & Wireless Group. He held senior roles in Mercury Communications in the UK and Optus in Australia. Chris was a Non-Executive Director of the Royal Navy from 2017 until 2023.

Before his business career, Chris served in the Armed Forces in the Royal Artillery.
