Brent mains replacement

We’re making significant investment to replace our mains pipes in Brent. The pipes will be more durable, which will reduce the risk of leaks, bursts, and flooding. This will provide a more reliable service for the growing population over the next 100 years.

When and where we'll be working

We're currently working on the following roads:

  • Aboyne Road
  • Attewood Avenue
  • Churchill Road
  • Dudden Hill Lane (Chapter Road junction) - start date 1 June 2026
  • Quainton Street
  • Walm Lane

Letters will be sent to residents prior to our work commencing on your road. We will update this information as the project progresses.

Our standard working hours will be Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm and Saturday 8am to 1pm.

How this may affect you

We’ll do everything we can to minimise any disruption to you while we repair the main. But you may be affected by the work in the following ways:

  • Traffic disruptions - we'll use road closures in 100m to 150m sections. This could cause traffic disruptions. Diversion routes will be signposted. We'll contact residents by letter if we're due to start work on your road
  • Parking - we'll be implementing parking bay suspensions. Please look out for our on-street and path signage
  • Water supply - we may need to turn off your water supply for a short time. If so, we’ll send you a letter with more details at the time
  • Closed road lanes and footpaths - this will be around the areas where we're working
  • Noise at the site - this is likely during working hours. We're sorry for any inconvenience and will try to keep disruptions to a minimum
  • Refuse collection - if your bin or sack hasn’t been collected by 10pm, then you can report a missed collection

Emergency services, refuse collection, and the local authority are aware of the work. Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles, residents and businesses. Driveways will remain open as much as possible.

For more information on how this may affect you and how to contact us, view our guide to repair work.

Engaging with the community

We'll be holding a drop-in session on Thursday 28 May 2026 from 3:30pm to 6:30pm. The session aims to inform residents and businesses about our work and support with any concerns.
