Hampstead Norreys sewer relining
In Hampstead Norreys, we're reducing groundwater infiltration into our network. We’re re-lining 2km of sewer main, 78 manhole covers, and installing 23 low leak covers
Please note that more details will be provided once the project can fully start. This page was last updated on 25 July 2024.
When and where we'll be working
Currently, we cannot carry out our sewer lining work due to high groundwater levels. We are continuously monitoring the groundwater levels. As soon as these levels drop below the amber line, we will carry out the sewer lining work. We'll also notify all residents and councillors.
How this may affect you
Some of this relining work will affect the highway running through Hampstead Norreys. A temporary traffic management plan will be put in place. We will notify residents if any lane or road closures are necessary for more than a few hours.
In the meantime, we will clean the sewer area to reduce the built-up waste (cake) and surcharge in our manholes. During this clean-up, we will survey some of the mains upstream. We'll check to see if there are any pipes that could be relined while groundwater levels are high.
For all work, our working hours will be between 8am and 5pm. Our colleagues may arrive at the site earlier to have team talks before they begin their work.
