Studdridge Street mains replacement
We're installing new mains on Studdridge Street in Hammersmith and Fulham.
This work will help reduce leaks and keep the water supply reliable for generations to come. By investing in modern infrastructure, we're building a stronger, more resilient water network for the future.
When and where we'll be working
- Start date: Monday 5 October 2026
- Expected completion: December 2026
- Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, and Saturday, 8am to 1pm
We're working together with Cadent to improve local water and gas infrastructure at the same time, helping to reduce future disruption for residents and businesses.
How this may affect you
- Studdridge Street will be closed in phases, with no through traffic. We'll work with residents to maintain access wherever possible. But there may be short periods when access is restricted.
- Clearly signed diversion routes will be in place throughout the works
- Some parking bays near the work area will be temporarily suspended. Please check on-street signage for details of the parking suspensions.
- We'll maintain pedestrian access at all times
- Emergency vehicles will continue to have access
- There may be increased noise and construction vehicle movements, but we'll do everything we can to minimise these
- We may need to interrupt your water supply temporarily. If this is necessary, we'll write to affected customers in advance with more information.

Emergency services water supply
As part of the work, we'll reconnect all active service connections to properties. This includes connections used by emergency fire protection systems like:
- Sprinkler systems
- Water misting systems
- Other emergency service water supplies
Because some older systems aren't shown on our records, it's important that you let us know if your property has one of these connections.
