Saving water for rainy days
Our water cycle relies on rain. Heavy rainfall fills rivers and natural underground stores to keep your taps running and toilets flushing.
We store water, pumped from the River Thames and River Lee, in large reservoirs in Oxfordshire, West London and North London.
The reservoirs' water levels are closely monitored. This helps your water supply continue uninterrupted all year round, regardless of the weather.
