Water Direct scheme

Water Direct is a scheme that can help if you are behind in paying your water bill. Run in partnership with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), Water Direct allows you to combine your yearly bill with any other bill arrears, and pay weekly straight from your benefits. 

Being eligible for Water Direct

You can qualify for Water Direct if your Thames Water account is active, in debt of £50 or more and have had two failed payment plans. You’ll also need to receive one or more of the following benefits:

  • Income Support
  • Job Seekers Allowance (JSA)
  • Pension Credit
  • Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
  • Universal credit

Fill out our online form below which allows us to apply to the DWP to receive regular payments from your benefits. The process can take six to eight weeks to complete and under our privacy policy, we may also share information about any money you owe us with the Job Centre Plus. We won’t share your details with anyone else.

If your application is successful, you won’t need to worry about further debt recovery action being taken.
