Burst Sewer Main – Increased Tanker Activity 08:30 17/10/2025
We’re sorry for any disruption caused by a burst sewer main on Chilsey Green Road. Our teams are already on site with six tankers in place, working hard to manage the flows and reduce the impact on homes and the local area.
Unfortunately, this has led to external flooding at four properties, and one household has needed to be temporarily rehomed.
To help ease pressure on the system, we’ve identified valves that can divert some of the waste flow to another main. This will reduce the number of tankers needed and help us move closer to completing the repair safely.
Our specialist technicians are also on their way to isolate the local pumping station, which will allow us to begin repair work as soon as it’s safe to do so.
We’re closely monitoring the situation and working with our environmental teams. Tankers are managing a high volume of flow, and we’re doing everything we can to prevent any further impact on the surrounding area.
Our customer representative are on site to support anyone affected.
To carry out this work safely, a road closure will be needed on Chilsey Green Road and lane closure at Cowley Lane. We will be speaking directly with a nearby businesses to keep them updated, and our tanker supervisor is finalising a traffic management plan to keep disruption to a minimum.
We understand this work may cause inconvenience, and we’re grateful for your patience and understanding. Please be assured that our teams are doing everything possible to fix the burst and get things back to normal as quickly and safely as we can. We will provide a further update by 13.00.
