Help when someone's passed away

Losing a loved one and getting their affairs in order can be stressful. We’re sorry for your loss and will do our best to update our records as quickly as possible for you and your family.

Report a bereavement

The simplest way to notify us of a death is to complete our online form. Alternatively, you can reach us over the phone.

We can help you close the water account or move it to a different name. We'll let you know if any refunds or outstanding balances are due.

Information you’ll need

Having the following information ready will help us process everything quickly:

  • Name, address and phone number of the deceased
  • Account number (if available, you'll find this at the top of a bill from us)
  • Date of passing
  • Executor’s name, address, and contact details
  • Property details, including an up-to-date meter reading if possible

Contact us

If you'd like to speak with us in person, give us a call on 0800 009 4976 Monday to Friday from 9am until 5pm, so we can help you.

You may hear a recorded message suggesting you use our website instead. But please stay on the phone to talk to a member of our team.
