W1H - Enford Street

No water Low pressure

Update 10am 27/09/2025

Following the burst main on Enford Road, W1H, our teams are continuing to work hard to restore things to normal as quickly and safely as possible.

Ground surveys completed yesterday confirmed the site is stable, allowing us to begin repair works. Excavation around the burst location is now underway to replace a 5m section of pipe. This is a large and complex repair, and because of the scale of the job and the health and safety measures in place, we’re not yet able to confirm when the repair will be completed. Please be assured we’re working around the clock to get everything back to normal. We’re sorry for the disruption.

If your electricity supply has been affected, UK Power Networks are working to restore power. For the latest updates, please visit their website.

For customers impacted by property damage due to flooding or who need further support, our customer representatives are on site today at the following locations between 10am and 5pm (both Saturday and Sunday):

  • Thames Water incident vehicle – York Street junction with Enford Street, W1H

  • Little Venice Sports Centre – 10 Crompton Street, London, W2 1ND

Traffic management remains in place while repairs continue. We’re sorry for any delays this may cause to your journey.

Update 5:50pm 26/09/2025

Further to the burst that occurred on Enford Road, W1H, surveys have confirmed the site is now safe for work to begin.

We are now planning and preparing the site to begin the repair and we will begin these works tonight and will be working around the clock until its completed. Sorry for any disruption this may cause.

For those that had property damage and not been seen to yet or require any further assistance, our customer representatives will be back again tomorrow and will be in a Thames Water incident vehicle. We'll be there 1000am - 5pm both Saturday and Sunday this weekend.

Update - 14:15 PM 26/09/2025

 

Further to the burst that occurred yesterday on Enford Road, W1H, overnight surveys have confirmed the site is now safe for work to begin.

We are in planning stages for the repair and we expect to begin these works tonight.

For those that had property damage and not been seen to yet or require any further assistance, we have our customer representatives and loss adjusters at the address below. This drop in centre will remain open until 17:00 this afternoon.

Please note that the drop in centre will not be open after today and if you still require assistance, we will have a manned Thames Water van available at York Street, junction to Enford Street.

Following this morning’s leak, all customers should now have water back at their taps. Some customers, particularly in high-rise buildings, may still experience lower water pressure than normal. Sorry if you were affected.

We continue to work closely with the emergency services and Westminster Council to fully assess the site and make sure it’s safe for our teams to begin repairs. We are currently assessing health and safety concerns at the burst location due to possible ground voids and ground surveys are being carried out tonight. Diversions and road traffic management is in place, so please allow additional time to your journey. When the repair starts we'll be working around the clock.

A rest centre has been set up for those affected by the flooding at the location below. Our customer representatives and loss adjusters will be back tomorrow at 10:00am, and will remain open until 5:00pm to offer support and answer any questions. If you need alternative accommodation, we’ll work with you to arrange this.

Update – 9:45am

Our engineers have controlled the flow of water from the burst pipe, and our specialist repair team are on their way. Once on site, they’ll dig down to the damaged section and decide the safest way to repair it.

This means your water supply should begin returning shortly, although it may take a little time for pressure to fully build back up across the local network.

Unfortunately, several properties have been affected by flooding. A rest centre has been set up at the below address for those affected. Our customer representatives and loss adjusters are on site to support residents.

7:00am 25/09/25

We’re currently dealing with a burst pipe on Enford Street, W1H which may be causing low water pressure or a temporary loss of supply. We’re really sorry if your taps aren’t running as they should.

To prevent further flooding and allow us to safely carry out repairs, we’re working to temporarily shut off the water. We’re on site and doing everything we can to restore things to normal as quickly as possible.

We know how disruptive it is if you lose your water supply, so we’ll work hard to get things back to normal as soon as we can.
