Ground Stabilisation Works
Last updated:
We’re continuing to prepare for essential ground stabilisation works on Kidmore Road, following the identification of a sinkhole on public land.
Grouting will be used to safely stabilise the affected area, with full road reinstatement to follow. The work is expected to take approximately 12 weeks to complete once started. At present, we are still awaiting a confirmed start date from our specialist geotechnical contractors, and we are working to expedite this as quickly as possible.
We understand that the delay in starting works has caused frustration, and we want to reassure residents that we’re doing everything we can to move things forward.
Our traffic management remains in place, including a road closure and diversion route. Additional signage has been installed to support navigation and improve safety. Measures have also been put in place to improve pedestrian safety along pathways.
As part of wider investigations in the area, we’ve been reviewing water pressure levels. Initial findings identified that pressure levels were higher than required (around 6 bar), which can place undue stress on the network. We are now gradually adjusting pressures to bring them in line with best practice and government guidelines, ensuring a more reliable service for the future.
We apologise for the delay and thank residents for their continued patience and understanding. We’ll provide another update as soon as the start date is confirmed.
