OX4, Rymers Lane
Low pressure
Last updated:
We’re continuing to deal with the burst pipe at Rymers Lane, OX4. Sorry for any disruption this is causing.
We’ve now managed to stop the flow of water from the burst pipe. Unfortunately, because this is a large pipe, it caused significant flooding on the road, as seen in the photos below.
We've found that the pipe is located deep underground and requires specialist equipment which is making the repair more difficult than we first thought. We'll continue working through the night to get things back to normal.
Your water supply should remain on throughout, but you might notice lower pressure at times of high demand while we carry out the work. We really appreciate your patience and understanding as we get this fixed.
After starting our repairs, we aim to have fixed the burst pipe within 3 hours. However, if we’re unable to return water to all our customers within 12 hours of first being aware of the supply interruption, we’ll arrange for an alternative as soon as we can. This may include opening a support station to hand out free bottled water.
We know how disruptive it is if you lose your water supply, so we’ll work hard to get things back to normal as soon as we can.
To keep the public and our team safe, we’ve arranged equipment to help manage the traffic while we work in the road. Sorry for the impact this may have on traffic in the area, and any delays to your journey.
We'll provide a further update tomorrow morning no later than 07:30am. Thank you for being so patient while we work to get things back to normal.
