After the driest spring in over a century and the driest June on record, we’ve thankfully seen some recent rainfall, which has brought much-needed relief. However, we still need significantly more rain for our water resources to fully recover from the prolonged heatwave.

We’re continuing to do everything we can to keep all our customers supplied with top quality drinking water. This includes fixing leaks, using smart technology to manage water pressures, and closely monitoring demand across our network.

Even with recent rain, the hot and dry weather has placed sustained pressure on our systems, so we’re still asking everyone to do their bit to save water—every drop counts

Simple actions make a big difference. Cutting two minutes off a 10 minute shower saves 20 litres of water, and turning off the tap while brushing your teeth can save up to nine litres a minute.

By working together, we can all help protect our water supply. If you can, please take a break from using hosepipes in gardens and around the home.
