Your water, your say: customers invited to find out more about Thames Water’s business plan

Thames Water to host second Your Water Your Say event

  • Thames Water has submitted its 2025 to 2030 business plan to Ofwat for review 
  • The company is hosting its second virtual ‘Your Water, Your Say’ event on 30 November 
  • Customers, communities, and stakeholders are invited to join the event, where they can better understand the details of the plan and ask questions about it 

At the start of October 2023, the UK’s largest water company submitted its five-year business plan to industry regulator Ofwat, setting out its strategy to deliver what customers have said are their top priorities. 

This followed consultations with customers, communities, and wider stakeholders. Customers are once again invited to find out more and have their say on topics that matter most, including on the environment, water services, bills and more.  

The second virtual ‘Your Water, Your Say’ event will take place on Thursday 30 November, from 5pm to 7pm. It will be hosted by an Independent Chair, appointed by the regulator Ofwat and the Consumer Council for Water (CCW). Customers are invited to sign-up and find out more about the company’s planned investment for 2025 to 2030.  

Thames Water’s proposed business plan includes £18.7 billion total expenditure and a record £4.7 billion investment in its network and assets. It sets out how the company will deliver key priorities, including, improving water security, working to deliver more for customers and the environment and addressing challenges, including tackling leaks and storm overflows.  

David Bird, Thames Water’s retail director said: “Our plan is ambitious and proposes record investment to improve our performance, deliver a better service for customers and protect our environment. 

“We’re aiming to build greater resilience in our network which is under significant pressure from climate change and population growth. We’re also tackling leakage and pollutions head on and have committed to replace ageing pipes and upgrading sewer pipes.  

“Our customers are at the heart of our plan, and we’re committed to improving our service. We look forward to sharing details of our proposed plan with them.” 

Members from the company’s Executive team and Board will be on hand to share what's in the plan, the challenges faced, and the ways in which it is working together with communities and stakeholders to deliver more for customers and the environment. 

Attendees are welcome to put questions to the panel of experts during the live session. People can submit questions in advance to CCW, who will raise questions on their behalf and for those who can’t attend.
